Dino Di Donato, MFT #39831
We can come to life more fully by using the energy generated by emotions rather than be driven or overwhelmed by that energy. We can learn to respond to our emotions with intelligence rather than be triggered to react with destructive behaviors.
Originally trained in Humanistic Existentialism and group therapy, I studied with Carl Rogers and trained in Gestalt Therapy in San Diego and San Francisco. Currently, I find myself building on that background with Mindfulness Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. My work is influenced by Jon Kabat-Zinn’s model for Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and Emotional Intelligence. I take an active role in helping my clients examine their belief systems or life narratives to continue that development beyond our work together.
My interests and work tend to be focused on mood disorder, anxiety and stress related problems, ADHD, sexuality and men’s issues. I have 25 years experience in working with performing, visual, and literary artists and have found that useful in assisting people to break through creative barriers. My areas of focus include: ADHD, Depression, Anxiety Disorders, Sexuality, Anger Management, Abuse: Male Survivors and Stress/Burnout.
